On this 10-track album I have written lyrics that mean something to me, a piece of my own life in each song. My goal was to compose tunes that are not only melodic, but also playable in a jazz sense so the musicians I admire so much are able to improvise and express themselves in the great jazz tradition.

For the first time I have included a contrafact on an album. The song So Beautiful is my response to one of the most extraordinary ballads in the jazz repertoire, But Beautiful by Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen.

My collaboration with Craig Scott and Charlie Meadows in writing these songs has fine-tuned them into works that I am not only very proud of, but also excited to tour and perform live in concert.

The recording features Peter Locke on piano, Craig Scott on double bass, Charlie Meadows on guitar, and special guests Rob Kelly on percussion, Warwick Alder on trumpet, and Craig Walters on tenor saxophone.
