“I love the way you sing. You're yourself, which makes you an original singer. Your phrasing is perfection."

Tony Bennett

Endorsed by the biggest names in jazz and praised by his contemporaries and the press, Australian vocalist and composer Gregg Arthur follows in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, and Tony Bennett as one of the great interpreters of The Great American Songbook.

The Australian called Gregg “the finest male jazz singer Australia has produced”. Over the course of a 30-year career in Australasia, USA, Canada, and Europe he has honed his stage craft and performed with iconic musicians including Maestro Tommy Tycho (Mel Tormé, Jack Jones, Nat ‘King’ Cole), internationally acclaimed trumpeter James Morrison, Tom Ranier (pianist for Tony Bennett), Bob Rosario (Pianist and arranger for Bobby Darin) Vincent Falcone (pianist and conductor for Frank Sinatra), and Clayton Cameron (drummer Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr).

The 2022-23 season has been busy with a national tour of 32 Performing Arts Center concerts. Featuring the 17-piece Swing City Big Band led by beloved drummer John Morrison with singer Jacki Cooper and featuring trumpet legend James Morrison. Gregg has been selling out shows with his quartet at his residency, Sydney’s popular jazz club Foundry 616, as well as concerts in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Gregg has recorded his new live album to be released February 2024, and will be appearing at Sydney’s City Recital Hall with his new show; Gregg Arthur In Concert, The Great American Songbook

“It can be learned, but only if the right instincts already exist. Billie Holiday, the greatest exponent, absorbed it from Louis Armstrong and passed it on to Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and more. Some people got it, and some people don’t. Gregg Arthur is one of the ones who does. It’s the devilish art of being a jazz singer”

John Shand. Sydney Morning Herald.

“To hear Arthur sing, for example, the great Lorenz Hart/ Richard Rodgers composition My Romance is to know we're in the hands of a masterful interpreter of lyrics and a superior purveyor of immortal melodies.”

“Simply one of the best singers I have ever heard."

Tom Ranier
(pianist/arranger Tony Bennett, Lady GaGa)

“The quintessential jazz club experience.”

The Australian

“... this exceptional singer, like Sinatra, delivers immortal melodies with impeccable phrasing.”
